Photographs of missing children. The Internal Revenue Service is a proud partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Photographs of missing children selected by the Center may appear in this publication on pages that would otherwise be blank. You can help bring these children home by looking at the photographs and calling 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) if you recognize a child.

Medical conferences. You can include in medical expenses amounts paid for admission and transportation to a medical conference if the medical conference concerns the chronic illness of you, your spouse, or your dependent. The costs of the medical conference must be primarily for and necessary to the medical care of you, your spouse, or your dependent. You must spend the majority of your time at the conference attending sessions on medical information. The cost of meals and lodging while attending the conference are not deductible as medical expenses.
