What Tax Records Should I Keep?

This is archived information that pertains only to the 2000 Tax Year. If you
are looking for information for the current tax year, go to the Tax Prep Help Area.

You should make and keep a copy of your completed tax return.

Files:

Keep Copy C of all Forms W-2, your Forms 1099 showing interest and other income, and a record of any other information you filed with your return. Keep these records for at least 3 years from the date your return was due or filed, or 2 years from the date you paid the tax, whichever is later.
