If you are unable to complete your return because of a physical disability you may obtain assistance from an IRS office or the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). Telephone help for people with impaired hearing is available using TDD equipment in either English or Spanish. The toll-free number for this service is 1-800-829-4059. People who do not have this equipment may be able to obtain access to it through local agencies for the hearing impaired. The IRS TDD service is generally available during normal business hours. Consult the instruction booklet for Form 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ, for exact times.

Also, Braille materials for the visually impaired are available at any of the 142 regional libraries in conjunction with the national library service for the blind and physically handicapped. To locate your nearest library write to the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Library of Congress at 1291 Taylor street, Northwest, Washington, D.C. 20542. These materials are limited to Publication 17, Your Federal Income Tax, Publication 334, Tax Guide for Small Business, and Form 1040, Form 1040A, and Form 1040EZ, all with instructions, and tax tables.
