Heather Rosenker to Lead
Communications Activities for
IRS Small Business/Self-Employed Division

WASHINGTON - Heather Rosenker was recently appointed as Director of Communications for the Internal Revenue Service´s Small Business/Self-Employed Division.

Rosenker will direct the Division´s communications strategy. This office is the main contact for relaying SB/SE-related information internally to over 40,000 employees and externally to agency stakeholders. Her office will also serve as the central point of contact on all SB/SE matters related to the Federal/State, Disclosure and Legislative Affairs programs.

“Heather brings with her a vast amount of communications experience in both the public and private sector,” said SB/SE Commissioner Joe Kehoe. “Her leadership and management skills will help us continue to develop a first-class communications strategy for this division of the IRS.”

Before joining the IRS, Rosenker served as executive director for the Federal Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce that advised Congress on Internet sales tax policy. Prior to that she served as vice president, communications, for the Professional Services Council, the national trade association representing the high-tech services industry, and was director of President George H. W. Bush´s Environment and Conservation Challenge Awards. With nearly two decades of private-sector and public-sector communications experience, she also worked for Slack Brown and Myers, the Kamber Group, and Holt Ross & Yulish. In these positions she developed and managed communications campaigns for clients such as the National Soft Drink Association, McDonalds Corp., and Exxon Corp.

Rosenker received a bachelor´s degree in Mass Communications/Psychology from the University of Denver and serves on the board of directors for the Northern Virginia Community Foundation. She is a member of the Junior League of Northern Virginia.
