IRS Commissioner's Advisory Group to Meet

WASHINGTON - Commissioner of Internal Revenue Margaret Milner Richardson today announced the appointment of the 1994 Commissioner's Advisory Group.

The Commissioner appointed 15 new members to two-year staggered terms ending in 1995. Nine current members will served their second year in 1994.

The Commissioner appoints new members from nominations submitted by professional organizations in the tax field, IRS officials, and others interested in tax administration. Members are academicians, accountants, attorneys, business executives, educators, small business representatives, and government officials. All members serve without compensation.

The group will meet Tuesday, February 1, 1994 in Room 3313 starting at 8:30 a.m. Topics include the non-filer program, a Fed/State program update, the technical assistance program, and Tax Link. The IRS will present reports on its experience with ethics workshops, retrospective of the conference on professionalism, penalties handbook update, and an update on corporate education.

Also listed are discussions of Compliance 2000: market segments, interest netting, the Tax Compliance Measurement Program, and advance pricing agreements.
