Announcement 99–39 from IR Bulletin No. 1999-15
This document contains corrections to T.D. 8812, 1999–8 I.R.B. 19, which was published in the Federal Register on February 3, 1999 (64 F.R. 5160), relating to continuation coverage requirements applicable to group health plans.

Final and proposed regulations under section 4980B of the Code relate to continuation coverage requirements applicable to group health plans. A public hearing will be held on June 8, 1999.

The Service provides guidance on continued reliance on proposed regulations regarding the issues raised by Geissal v. Moore Medical Corp., which is currently before the Supreme Court.

Temporary and proposed regulations under section 9812 of the Code relate to mental health parity requirements imposed on group health plans.

Notice 97-41 from IR Bulletin No. 1997-28
T.D. 8716, 1997-19 I.R.B. 5, relating to group health plan portability, access, and renewability requirements added to section 9801 of the Code by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, is corrected.
