Audit Misconception #5
"So
what if I'm audited, I'll just pay them when I can."
Don't count on it. As I have already explained, the Collection Division
has no leniency policy for those who have been audited. You'll be expected
to pay according to your ability to pay, and the revenue officer determines
what your ability is, not you. Remember also that you will have to pay
interest on the additional taxes, and penalties if you don't pay in full
within ten days of the first notice.
